Battle of Telamon
The Battle of Telamon was fought in 225 BCE near Telamon on the coast of Etruria between the Roman Republic and an invading army of Gauls from northern Italy, led by the Insubres and Boii with Gaesatae from across the Alps. The Gauls were trapped between two consular armies and destroyed, though one consul was killed. The victory opened the way for Rome's conquest of Cisalpine Gaul.
