Bay of Campeche
The Bay of Campeche, or Gulf of Campeche, is the southern part of the Gulf of Mexico, bordered by the Mexican states of Veracruz, Tabasco and Campeche. Its offshore fields, above all Cantarell, discovered in the 1970s, made it the centre of Mexico's oil production. It is also an important fishing ground.
