Beaujeu
Beaujeu is a small town in the Rhône department of eastern France, in the hills west of the Saône. Its castle was the seat of the lords of Beaujeu from the 10th century, who gave their name to the surrounding Beaujolais and later founded Villefranche-sur-Saône. The lordship passed to the dukes of Bourbon in 1400, and the town remains a centre of the Beaujolais wine trade.
