Beeston Castle

Beeston Castle is a ruined castle on a high sandstone crag in Cheshire, England. Ranulf de Blondeville, Earl of Chester, began it in the 1220s after returning from crusade, and it passed to the crown with the earldom in 1237. It was besieged during the English Civil War and slighted in 1646 to prevent further use.
