Beer Hall Putsch
The Beer Hall Putsch was a failed coup attempt by Adolf Hitler, the Nazi Party and General Erich Ludendorff in Munich on 8 and 9 November 1923. Launched in the Bürgerbräukeller beer hall, it was crushed by the Bavarian police at the Feldherrnhalle, where 16 putschists and four policemen died. Hitler was tried for treason and wrote Mein Kampf in prison.
