Beidi Commandery

Beidi Commandery, the 'Northern Land', was a commandery of the Qin and Han empires on the north-western frontier of China, in eastern Gansu and Ningxia. It was created by the state of Qin after it destroyed the Yiqu Rong in the 3rd century BCE and guarded the frontier against the steppe peoples.
