Biella

Biella is a city in north-eastern Piedmont, Italy, at the foot of the Alps between Turin and Milan. Ruled by the bishops of Vercelli in the Middle Ages, it submitted to Savoy in 1379 and later became the leading centre of the Italian wool industry. Families such as the Sella built textile fortunes there.
