Blida
Blida is a city in northern Algeria at the foot of the Tell Atlas, south-west of Algiers, on the edge of the Mitidja plain. Founded in the 16th century, it was occupied by the French during the conquest of Algeria in the 1830s and grew into a garrison and market town. Frantz Fanon worked at its psychiatric hospital in the 1950s.
