Bolívar Province (Ecuador)
Bolívar is a province in the central highlands of Ecuador, on the western slopes of the Andes south-west of the volcano Chimborazo, with Guaranda as its capital. Named after Simón Bolívar, it rises from subtropical valleys to high páramo grasslands. Its land formed part of the territory of the Puruhá people before the Inca and Spanish conquests, and many of its inhabitants still speak Kichwa.
