Burhi Dihing River
The Burhi Dihing is a river of Upper Assam in north-east India, a major south-bank tributary of the Brahmaputra. Rising in the Patkai range in eastern Arunachal Pradesh, it flows west through the Tinsukia and Dibrugarh districts to join the Brahmaputra at Dihingmukh. The early Ahom kingdom took shape in the land between this river and the Dikhow after Sukaphaa's arrival in the thirteenth century.
