Burj Khalifa
The Burj Khalifa is a skyscraper in Dubai, at 828 metres the tallest building in the world since its opening on 4 January 2010. Developed by Emaar and designed by Adrian Smith of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, it was renamed at its opening from Burj Dubai in honour of Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, president of the UAE, after Abu Dhabi's financial support for Dubai during the debt crisis of 2009.
