Libya

Libya is a country in North Africa on the Mediterranean coast, comprising the historical regions of Tripolitania, Cyrenaica and the Fezzan. The Fezzan was the heartland of the Garamantian Empire, and the coast was conquered by Arab armies under the Rashidun Caliphate. Libya was a colony of the Italian Empire from 1911 until the Second World War, and its trade routes linked it to the Darfur and Wadai sultanates.
