Khalifa
Khalifa, rendered in English as caliph, is the Arabic title for the successor to the Prophet Muhammad as leader of the Muslim community. The office emerged after Muhammad's death in 632, when Abu Bakr became the first caliph of the Rashidun Caliphate. The title combined political and religious authority and was later claimed by Umayyad, Abbasid, Fatimid and Ottoman rulers.
