Brahmaputra
The Brahmaputra is one of the great rivers of Asia, about 2,900 kilometres long. It rises in western Tibet as the Yarlung Tsangpo, cuts through the Himalayas into Arunachal Pradesh, flows west through the Assam valley in India and enters Bangladesh, where it joins the Ganges before reaching the Bay of Bengal. Its valley was the heartland of Kamarupa and the Ahom kingdom.
