Charaideo
Charaideo is a site in eastern Assam, India, founded by Sukaphaa around 1253 as the first capital of the Ahom kingdom. Though the capital later moved, it remained the royal burial ground, and its maidams, earthen mounds over vaulted tombs of Ahom kings and nobles, were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2024.
