Garhgaon
Garhgaon was a capital of the Ahom kingdom, about 13 kilometres east of present-day Sivasagar in Assam, India. King Suklenmung moved the court there around 1540, and it remained a principal royal seat into the eighteenth century. The Mughal army of Mir Jumla occupied it in 1662, and its brick palace, rebuilt under Rajeswar Singha in the mid-eighteenth century, still stands.
