Himalayas
The Himalayas are the highest mountain range on Earth, stretching about 2,400 kilometres from northern Pakistan through India, Nepal and Bhutan, between the Tibetan Plateau and the plains of the Indian subcontinent. They contain Mount Everest and many of the world's highest peaks. The range has shaped the climate, rivers and history of South Asia, while its passes carried trade, pilgrims and Buddhism between India and Tibet.
