Indra
Indra is the king of the gods in the Rigveda, the god of thunder and rain who wields the thunderbolt and slays the serpent Vritra to release the waters. He is the most invoked deity of the Vedic hymns. His name, with those of Mitra, Varuna and the Nasatyas, appears in a fourteenth-century BCE treaty between the Hittites and Mitanni, evidence of Indo-Aryan speakers in the Near East.
