Mitra
Mitra is a Vedic god of friendship, contracts and alliances, usually invoked together with Varuna in the Rigveda and closely related to the Iranian Mithra. A 14th-century BCE treaty between the Hittite king Suppiluliuma I and Shattiwaza of Mitanni invokes Mitra, Varuna, Indra and the Nasatyas as witnesses, among the earliest evidence for Indo-Aryan speakers in the Near East.
