Alalakh
Alalakh is a Bronze Age city mound at Tell Atchana near Antakya in southern Turkey, in the Amuq plain. It was the capital of the kingdom of Mukish, under Yamhad in the 18th century BCE and later under Mitanni and the Hittites. Leonard Woolley's excavations from 1936 found palaces, temples and archives of cuneiform tablets, as well as the statue of Idrimi.
