Indo-Aryans
The Indo-Aryans are speakers of the Indo-Aryan branch of the Indo-European languages, which includes Sanskrit. In the Mitanni Empire, a ruling elite with Indo-Aryan names and deities governed a largely Hurrian population. Indo-Aryan terms in texts on horse training and in treaties invoking gods such as Mitra and Indra reflect this heritage.
