Late Bronze Age
The Late Bronze Age is the period of roughly the sixteenth to the twelfth centuries BCE in the Near East and eastern Mediterranean. It was an era of great territorial powers, including the Egyptian New Kingdom, the Hittite Empire, Mitanni, Babylon and Assyria, linked by diplomacy, trade and chariot warfare. The period ended with the widespread upheavals known as the Late Bronze Age collapse.
