Idrimi

15th century BCE · 15th century BCE

Idrimi was king of Alalakh in the Amuq plain in the 15th century BCE, a refugee prince from Aleppo who took power with the help of Habiru warriors and ruled as a vassal of Mitanni. His life story is inscribed on a seated statue found at Alalakh in 1939 and now in the British Museum. It is one of the few autobiographical texts of the period.
