Busseto

Busseto is a small town in the province of Parma, Emilia-Romagna, on the Po plain. It was the seat of the Pallavicino family's small state before passing to the Farnese dukes of Parma in the sixteenth century. It is closely associated with Giuseppe Verdi, who was born in the nearby village of Le Roncole in 1813, grew up in the town and later lived at his villa at Sant'Agata nearby.
