Cabimas

Cabimas is a city in the state of Zulia in western Venezuela, on the eastern shore of Lake Maracaibo. It grew from a small village after the blowout of the Barroso II well in 1922 revealed the vast oil reserves of the Lake Maracaibo basin, and it remains one of the main centres of the Venezuelan oil industry.
