Calw

Calw is a town in the northern Black Forest in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, on the River Nagold. Seat of the medieval counts of Calw, it later prospered from the timber trade and from the cloth and dyeing business of the Calw trading company. The novelist Hermann Hesse was born there in 1877, and a museum in the town is devoted to him.
