Capo Colonna

Also known as Lacinian promontory

Capo Colonna is a cape on the Ionian coast of Calabria, south of Crotone, in southern Italy. It was the site of the sanctuary of Hera Lacinia, the main religious centre of the Greek cities of southern Italy, whose temple of the 5th century BCE was later plundered for building stone. A single standing Doric column survives and gives the cape its name.
