Cariboo
The Cariboo is a region of the interior plateau of British Columbia, Canada, between the Coast and Cariboo mountains. Gold was discovered on its creeks in the early 1860s, and the Cariboo Gold Rush made Barkerville its booming centre and led to the building of the Cariboo Wagon Road. The region now lives mainly on ranching, forestry and tourism.
