Cephissus (Boeotia)
The Cephissus is a river of central Greece that rises near Mount Parnassus in Phocis and flows east through Phocis and Boeotia. In antiquity it fed the marshy Lake Copais, which was drained in the late 19th century. Its valley was the heart of ancient Phocis, with towns such as Elateia.
