Mount Parnassus

Mount Parnassus is a limestone mountain in central Greece, above the Gulf of Corinth. On its southern slopes lay the sanctuary of Delphi, home of the oracle of Apollo, and in Greek myth it was sacred to Apollo and the Muses. Its valleys were home to the Phocians, and in the Middle Ages the Frankish lords of Salona controlled the land below it.
