Charles III of Navarre

1361–1425 · 15th century · Also known as Charles III the Noble

Charles III the Noble was King of Navarre from 1387, of the French house of Évreux. Unlike his father Charles the Bad, he kept peace with Castile and France, exchanging his Norman claims for the duchy of Nemours. He reorganised the kingdom's administration, united the boroughs of Pamplona in 1423, and built the palace of Olite and the cathedral cloister of Pamplona.
