Privilege of the Union

1423 · 15th century · Also known as Privilegio de la Unión

The Privilege of the Union was a charter issued by Charles III the Noble of Navarre on 8 September 1423 that united the three rival boroughs of Pamplona, the Navarrería, San Cernin and San Nicolás, into a single city. After centuries of conflict between them, it gave Pamplona one council, one coat of arms and a common town hall built between the old boroughs.
