Kingdom of Aragon
The Kingdom of Aragon was a Christian kingdom in north-eastern Iberia that took part in the Reconquista against the Almoravid and Almohad states of al-Andalus. Through union with Catalonia it built a Mediterranean presence. The marriage of Ferdinand of Aragon and Isabella of Castile in 1469 laid the dynastic foundation of the Spanish Empire.
