Charles, Margrave of Burgau

1560–1618 · 16th century · Also known as Charles of Burgau

Charles of Burgau was the son of Archduke Ferdinand II of Austria and Philippine Welser. Because of his parents' unequal marriage he could not inherit Tyrol, but he received the Margraviate of Burgau in Swabia and from 1609 resided at Günzburg. He died without legitimate heirs in 1618, and Burgau returned to the Habsburgs.
