Chhota Udaipur is a town in eastern Gujarat, India, and the headquarters of Chhota Udaipur district, created in 2013. It was the capital of the princely state of Chhota Udaipur, founded by Khichi Chauhan Rajputs who fled Champaner after its capture by Mahmud Begada in 1484. The surrounding forested hills are home mainly to Adivasi communities such as the Rathwa and Bhil, known for their Pithora wall paintings.
