Chirchiq River
The Chirchiq is a river in Uzbekistan and southern Kazakhstan, a right tributary of the Syr Darya, about 155 kilometres long. It is formed by the Pskem and Chatkal rivers, which meet in the Charvak reservoir in the western Tian Shan. Canals drawn from it have irrigated the Tashkent oasis since ancient times, making possible the city and its farmland.
