Clisson
Clisson is a town in the Loire-Atlantique department of western France, on the Sèvre Nantaise south-east of Nantes. Its castle, seat of the powerful Clisson family whose best-known member was the constable Olivier de Clisson, guarded the frontier between Brittany and Poitou. Destroyed in the Vendée war in 1794, the town was rebuilt in an Italian style in the early nineteenth century.
