Clofesho
Clofesho was the meeting place of a series of church councils of the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms in the 8th and early 9th centuries, held under Mercian kings and the archbishops of Canterbury. The councils issued canons on church discipline and settled disputes over monastic lands. Its location is unknown; suggestions include Brixworth and sites near London.
