Complutum
Complutum was a Roman city in central Hispania, on the site of modern Alcalá de Henares near Madrid, which grew from a settlement of the Carpetani. It flourished in the imperial period, with a forum and rich houses with mosaics. The martyrdom of the boys Justus and Pastor there around 304 made it a Christian centre, around which the later town grew.
