Hispania
Hispania was the Roman name for the Iberian Peninsula, conquered by Rome from 218 BCE until the end of the Cantabrian Wars in 19 BCE. It was divided first into Hispania Citerior and Ulterior and later into Tarraconensis, Baetica and Lusitania. One of the most Romanised parts of the empire, it gave Rome the emperors Trajan and Hadrian and fell to Germanic peoples in the 5th century.
