Trajan

Trajan was Roman emperor from 98 to 117 CE, under whom the empire reached its greatest territorial extent. He conquered Dacia in two wars and later campaigned against Parthia, annexing Armenia and Mesopotamia for a time. Accounts of the Roman Empire discuss him in the context of its military history, and his reign is traditionally regarded as one of the high points of the Roman principate.
