Constantin-François de Hoensbroeck

1724–1792 · 18th century

Constantin-François de Hoensbroeck was prince-bishop of Liège from 1784 to 1792. His conservative rule and a dispute over gaming houses at Spa led to the Liège Revolution of August 1789, which drove him from the city. He was restored by Austrian troops in January 1791 and died the following year.
