Person
Cynric
Cynric is named by the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle as the son, or in some sources the grandson, of Cerdic and his successor as king of Wessex, ruling from 534 to 560. The Chronicle credits him with victories over the Britons at Old Sarum and Barbury and with taking the Isle of Wight with Cerdic. Like Cerdic, he is known only from later and partly legendary tradition.
