Da Nang
Da Nang is a port city in central Vietnam, on a sheltered bay south of the Hai Van Pass. A French and Spanish fleet attacked it in 1858, the opening of the French conquest, and in 1888 the Nguyen court ceded it to France as a concession. During the Vietnam War it was a major American air and naval base.
