Vietnam
Vietnam is a country in mainland Southeast Asia along the eastern coast of the Indochinese peninsula. Its northern part was long under Chinese rule, including periods of Han and Tang administration, and it absorbed Confucian governance traditions. Accounts of the Song Dynasty note the introduction of Champa rice varieties from the region, and Vietnam was later a target of Ming and Qing military campaigns.
