Denbigh

Denbigh is a market town in north-east Wales, above the Vale of Clwyd, in the medieval cantref of Rhufoniog. A Welsh stronghold there was held by Dafydd ap Gruffudd before the English conquest, after which Henry de Lacy, Earl of Lincoln, built Denbigh Castle and a walled town from 1282. The town later gave its name to the county of Denbighshire.
