The Derge Parkhang is a printing house and library in Dêgê, in the Kham region of eastern Tibet, founded in 1729 by King Tenpa Tsering of Derge. It holds hundreds of thousands of carved wooden blocks for the Buddhist canon and other Tibetan works, which are still used to print texts by hand. It is one of the most important centres of Tibetan printing.
