Dioscorus I of Alexandria
Dioscorus I was Patriarch of Alexandria from 444 to 451. He presided over the Second Council of Ephesus in 449, which restored the monk Eutyches, but the Council of Chalcedon in 451 deposed and exiled him. Most Egyptian Christians rejected Chalcedon and continued to honour him, and the Coptic Orthodox Church regards him as a saint.
