Dodecanese

Also known as Dodecanese Islands

The Dodecanese is a group of islands in the south-eastern Aegean Sea. Italy seized them from the Ottoman Empire during the Italo-Turkish War of 1911–1912, and they remained part of the Italian Empire until after the Second World War, when they were transferred to Greece.
