Donegal Castle
Donegal Castle stands on the River Eske in Donegal town, Ireland. The O'Donnell lords of Tír Chonaill built its tower house in 1474 as their main seat. Red Hugh O'Donnell partly destroyed it in the 1590s to keep it from the English, and after 1607 the English captain Basil Brooke added a Jacobean manor house.
